Ruth Ann Hall

Ruth Ann Hall, 69, left for heaven at 12:57 p.m. on June 16, 2020, at St. Vincent Hospital. She was born on June 18, 1950, to the late Raymond and Irene Jahn in Huntingburg, IN. She had a great faith in Christ and was known to encourage others in their faith and share the love of Jesus Christ. She was an active member of Methodist Temple, where she participated in Seekers Sunday School Class, Sarah Fellowship, United Methodist Women, and an exercise class at the church. She was a student in the community Bible Study Fellowship. She served as treasurer of Wesselman Park Neighborhood Association for 12 years. Ruth had earned an associate degree at USI and had been a bookkeeper at F’s Steak House and a beautician at Lou’s Beauty Salon. She used her sewing skills to sew a banner for the Sons of the American Revolution colonial color guard, and marched in the parades with her husband, Bob. Ruth enjoyed travel, movies, working with flowers, and most of all, being with her family. She treasured her time with her three grandchildren. She had a special bond with them, and her memory will live on in them. She was an optimistic and unassuming person with a smile for everyone. Her family is grateful that she was able to receive the gift of life though a kidney transplant. As her health began to decline, she decided not to be considered for a heart-kidney transplant so that someone else might receive the organs. Ruth asks others to consider being an organ donor. Surviving are her husband, Bob, of 48½ years; daughter, Renee Chandler (Mark); grandchildren, Andrew Chandler, Mallory Chandler and Aiden Chandler; brother, Tom Jahn (Barbara) of Ireland, IN; sisters, Rita Weyerbacher (Ron) of Huntingburg, IN, Donna Beadles of Huntingburg, IN, Carol Borman (Ed) of Dunedin, FL, and Marty Coomer (Steve) of Huntingburg, IN; sister-in-law, Donna Baggett (Dale); and many nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2020, at Methodist Temple, officiated by Rev. Andy Payton. Friends may call on Friday, June 19, 2020, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Alexander East Chapel and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
