Ruth M. Yokel

She was a lifelong and active member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ. Ruth was a wonderful homemaker and terrific cook and baker. Ruth became a licensed practical nurse at age 48 and worked at Welborn Hospital until her retirement. She loved to travel and take care of her flower gardens.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Doyle Yokel and brother, Vernon Herrenbruck.

She is the beloved mother of, son, Donald D. Yokel (Ellen) of Dunellon, FL; daughter, Diana Sander (John) of Evansville; son, Jerel W.Yokel (Julie) of Walla Walla, WA; grandchildren, Bonnie Swizroll, Jennette Mutolo, Grant Yokel, John D. Sander, Christy Jensen, Melissa Sander, Angela Huntsman, Aaron DeLong, Emily Kelty; thirteen great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all at Sterling House of Evansville and Living Waters Hospice who so lovingly cared for mom. Ruth truly enjoyed and held a special affection for her neighbors on New Harmony Road.

Services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, October 26, 2010, at Alexander Memorial Park Chapel, officiated by Pastor Lynn Marino with entombment to follow. Friends may visit Monday from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at Alexander West Chapel and Tuesday from 9:00 AM until service time at the cemetery chapel.
