

She graduated from Collinwood High School in Cleveland. She completed two years at Franklin College where she met her husband John. After he served one year in the U.S Army, they married on April 19, 1952. She enjoyed working with children and was one of the first daycare teachers at the Methodist Temple. Sally retired from the EVSC where she was a reading tutor. She was an active member of the Methodist Temple where she taught Sunday school. Sally was also active in the United Methodist Women’s Organization. She loved doing things with her grandchildren, traveling and her family.
Sally was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Isabel (Bishop) Martin.; her husband, John E. McGinness; and son, Thomas L. McGinness.
She is survived by her sons, Timothy L. McGinness (Tana) and Stephen M. McGinness (Donna); grandchildren, Jamie Flick (Ben), Zachary McGinness (Leslie), Tyler McGinness, Tiana McGinness-Kaiser (Jake): great-grandchildren, Vera Flick, Wells Flick, and Macie McGinness; sister, Carolyn Konya; brother, William Martin; and nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 16, 2024 at Alexander East Chapel officiated by Pastor Randy Moore. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends and family may visit on Friday, August 16, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. The funeral service will be livestreamed beginning at 10:45 a.m. on Friday at www.facebook.com/FuneralStreamUSA.
