

Sloane Benthall Zirkle, 21, of Evansville, Ind., passed from this earthly world and went home to his Lord and Savior on December 9, 2009. Sloane was born January, 2, 1988, to Danette Benthall and Richard L. Zirkle, Jr. He was raised and educated by his parents in their traditional values of family, faith, life, and patriotism to his country.Sloane graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in 2006 and continued his education at the University of Southern Indiana. He was employed by Benthall Brothers, Inc., of Evansville. Sloane’s pride and joy was his best friend and beloved dog, Saddie. He was a car enthusiast. As a founding member of the East Side Car Club, he attended many car shows and enjoyed showing his own cars. Sloane played football for Mt. Vernon High School and was an Indianapolis Colts fan. He enjoyed water sports, including wakeboarding at Timberlake, along with boating and running Sea-Doos at Kentucky Lake. Sloane loved to participate in the outdoor sports of fishing and bird hunting.His loving nature, subtle sense of humor, and sensitive personality will be dearly missed by his mother, Danette Benthall (Dan Custer), of Mt. Vernon, Ind., his father, Richard L. Zirkle, Jr. (Madonna Tremont), of Newburgh, Ind., and his brother, Seth Zirkle (Scarlett), of Cheverly, Md. The families of his Uncle Dennis (Leah) Benthall, Aunt Deedra Benthall, and Aunt Cindy (Michael) Williams, as well as many friends and extended family members, will cherish the blessings Sloane brought to their lives.Family and friends may visit between 3:00 and 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 15, 2009, at Alexander Chapel North. Memorial service will be held at Oak Hill Bible Fellowship Church at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, December 16, 2009, with visitation from 9:30 a.m. until service time.Memorial contributions may be made to Oak Hill Bible Fellowship Youth Group, 1026 Oak Hill Road, Evansville, IN 47711 or the Vanderburgh County Humane Society, 400 Millner Industrial Drive, Evansville, IN 47710.
