Steven Wayne McClintock, 64, of Newburgh, IN, went home to the Lord on Wednesday, April 9, 2025. He was born on May 26, 1960, in Evansville, IN, to Earl Richard McClintock and Dolores Jean (Dickhaut) McClintock.
Steve had a lifelong passion for working on cars—a true addiction. He inherited his love for auto body work from his father and grandfather, and it became a defining part of his life. He owned and operated McClintock Body Shop on the West Side for over 30 years. A proud moment was winning a trophy from the West Side Nut Club for a 1940 Ford Coupe that he rebuilt with his father. In addition to cars, he also dabbled in woodworking for a time.
A proud West-Sider, Steve grew up in Evansville and graduated from Reitz High School in 1978. He was quiet and shy and had a deep love for his family. He was married to his beloved wife, Connie, for 22 years. Together, they created wonderful memories, including traveling to Hawaii—a place he loved despite the long flight—and frequent trips to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and Pigeon Forge, where they honeymooned.
Steve cherished time with his family, especially his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was always up for a good conversation, and if you wanted to get him talking, all you had to do was mention cars. Steve stood strong in his faith and will be missed by many.
Steve is survived by his wife, Connie; sons, Jerry Strange (Christina) and David Strange (Tammy); daughter, Charity Boyer (James); grandsons, Derek Strange (Sheria), Dylan Strange (Jessica), Devin Strange, Andy Boyer, and Blake Feldmeier; bonus grandson, Cory Morton and his family; granddaughter, Keira Boswell; great-granddaughters, Addison Strange, Elizabeth Strange, and Alice Strange; great-grandson, Zane Strange; nieces, Katie Droege (Brandon) and their children, Claire and Carly, and Denise Hahn (Matt) and their children, Preston and Waylon; nephew, Jon McClintock (Ellen) and their children, Tori and Lucy; brother, David McClintock; cousins, Shelly Nelson (Mark) and Cheryl Bernhardt (Dennis); and many other extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Dolores McClintock.
