
Thelma Joy Allen, 87, of Evansville passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at Deaconess Midtown. She was born June 25, 1938 in Princeton to Rudolph and Flora Blum. Her mansion was completed on October 7, 2025 and she was called to her eternal home.
Thelma was a daughter, sister, aunt, wife, cousin, godmother, friend, and Christian. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Owen, Carl, and Kenneth Bluml five sisters, Mary L. Dewig, Kathryn Blum, Wilma Dean infant, Norma Jean Hillyard, Bonnie J Gayer, and a nephew, Kenneth Carl Blum.
Thelma graduated from Princeton High School in 1956. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church and attended First Baptist Church for 47 years. Thelma was employed at Interstate Finance, Bucyrus-Erie, Charles Leich, Kent Plastics, and she retired from Old National Bank in 2000. While working at Bucyrus-Erie, she met, fell in love with, and married the love of her life, Larry Kent Allen. Thelma enjoyed cooking, reading, playing cards, and walking when her health permitted. Thelma and Larry didn’t have children, but they were grrrreat and purrrfect parents to furbabies- Muggins, Heidi, Nikki, Zoe, Miss Kitty, and Moonlight. She truly loved and enjoyed her four-legged friends.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Allen; sisters in law, Barbara Barnett and Janet Duckworth; a special godchild, Toni Dewig; numerous nieces and nephews, and Moonlight.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 13, 2025 at Alexander North Chapel, officiated by Rev. Cliff Herring, with burial to follow in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends and family may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church or Vanderburgh Humane Society.
