

She was a homemaker and stayed home to raise her children and grandchildren and also owned and operated Gates Vending for 15 years with her husband. She was a longtime member of Simpson United Methodist Church and enjoyed making crafts, crocheting, and gifting her creations. She enjoyed restoring antique cars alongside of her late husband. She was a very devoted wife and mother, and was a true Westsider.
Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, William “Frank” Gates, Sr. and 8 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by daughter, Judy (Ned) Woolbright; sons, Larry D. (Carol) Gates, Sr. and William F. (Tammy) Gates, Jr.; grandchildren, Larry D. Gates, Jr., Lisa (Gary) Smith, Diana (Drew) Martin, David (Laura) Woolbright, Nicholas Gates, Andy Gates and Rayden Gates; great-grandchildren, Cory Smith, Cameron Smith, Ashton Gates, Brady Gates and Jordan Hoffman.
The family would like to thank the staff of Bethel Manor and Heritage Hospice for their wonderful care.
Private graveside services will be Saturday, August 6, 2016, at Sunset Memorial Park, officiated by Rev. Barry Kirves.
