

William “Bill” Wayne Harvey, 88, of Evansville, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2014, at North Park Nursing Home. He was born October 12, 1925, in Diamond, KY, to the late Arthur and Carrie Lucy (Phelps) Harvey.
He was retired from Whirlpool where he had been a supervisor. He graduated from Wheat Kroft High School, Class of 1943, and was a Navy Veteran serving in WWII, where he fought in the battle of Imo Jima. He was a member of Terrace Park General Baptist Church.
Bill was preceded in death by parents; brother, Byron Harvey; and sister, Barbara Higginson.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marianna (Hobgood) Harvey of Evansville; sons, Mike (Rhonda) Harvey of Evansville and Doug (Kathy) Harvey of Brookfield, WI; grandchildren, Ryne Harvey of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Michelle and Wayne Carter Harvey of Evansville and Kyle, Sean and Katelyn Harvey of Brookfield, WI; sister, Mary Elizabeth Johnson of Franklin, TN; nine nephews; and two nieces.
Services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. Jeff Harford and Rev. Glen Spence, Military Services by the Vanderburgh County Retired Veterans Memorial Club, with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Henderson, KY. Friends may visit Tuesday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
