Bill was a good person. He loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He worked at Alcoa where he retired at 21 ½ years. Bill went on to open his self-made business, S&S Machine Company where he enjoyed his time working for 30 years. Throughout his life he had many health issues, but through it all he kept working every day. He was not a person to complain much about how he was feeling. He kept most of those feelings to himself. Bill will be missed by his wife of 65 years, June, and all the rest of the family because when there was a need, he was always there to lend a helping hand.
Bill is survived by his wife, June Shirley; sister, Scheryl Shirley; children, William C. Shirley (Kim) and David Shirley (Alicia); grandchildren, Brandy Shirley (David Reller), William “Bill” C. Shirley (Stacy), Macy Shirley, and Trenton Shirley; and great-grandchildren, Tristan Shirley and Liam Shirley.
Friends and family may visit from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday April 7, 2023 and from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. on Saturday April 8, 2023 at Alexander North Chapel.
