He served in the US Army and was a huge history buff. Bill retired from GAF in Mt. Vernon, IN after 33 years of service, and worked part-time at USI. He was a loving father and proud grandpa who loved to show off pictures of his grandchildren to anyone around.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy Whiteley; and his parents.
He is survived by his sons, Shannon (Lori Rouse) Whiteley and Christopher (Kacie Perigo) Whiteley; and grandchildren, Camren, Alaina, Ryland, Eislin and Dylan Whiteley.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, February 3, 2017, at Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 N. Illinois St., Fairview Heights, IL 62208, with burial in Lake View Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit Friday from 1:00 PM until service time at the funeral home.
