

William (Bill) Paul Wurtz, 70, of Evansville, IN passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at his home. He was born on June 4, 1955, in Evansville, IN to the late Donald A. Wurtz and Norma (Sanders) Hancock.
Bill also lived in Atlanta, GA from 1971-1976 and St. Petersburg, FL in 1982.
Bill attended Culver, Dexter, and Hebron Elementary Schools and Harrison High School in Evansville. He also attended Avondale Estates High School and DeKalb Community College in Atlanta.
He spent his career in Computer Programming, retiring from Atlas World Group in 2015. Bill was an avid sports fan, he traveled to almost every major league baseball stadium. He enjoyed fishing, hiking, camping, music and watching TV.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; nephew, Josh Howard; uncles, Glenn Howard and Leonard Sanders.
He is survived by his brother, Stephen Wurtz (Carol); step-mother, Marilyn Wurtz; aunts, Bonnie Howard and Shirley Sanders; cousins, Eric Howard (Robin), P.J. Howard (Tammy), Bruce Howard (Ruth), Paul Howard, and Scott Howard; and a host of second cousins and friends.
A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, October 4th at 11:00 a.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery in Newburgh, IN, officiated by Pastor Dan Kennedy.
