Wilma Winternheimer

Wilma was an active member and served as Parrish Nurse at Old North UMC and was previously a member of St. Peters UMC, where she served as a President of UMW.

She graduated from F.J. Reitz High School and earned her B.S. and M.A. from the University of Evansville. She was a member of Sigma Theta Tau.

Wilma worked at Welborn Baptist Hospital and taught at UE School of Nursing.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Karen Arthur; and sister, Doris Mark.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Sylvester Winternheimer; daughter, Jane Reel (Dale); son, Mark Winternheimer; sisters, Maxine “Sonia” Kaleb and Diane Bales; brother, Charles R. Eckerty; granddaughters, Dr. Amber Zagrodzki (Majiek) and Amanda Reel (Mark McBride); and grandson, Michael Boring.

Services will be held at 11:30 AM Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Old North United Methodist Church, 4201 Stringtown Rd, Evansville, IN, officiated by Pastor Mike Monahan, with burial at St. Peter’s UMC Cemetery at a later date. Friends may visit Friday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Alexander North Chapel and on Saturday from 9:30 AM untill service time at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Ruth’s House, United Methodist Committee on Relief, or a favorite charity.
