Judy Francis Greene, 73, passed away peacefully with her loving husband of almost 52 years at her side on July 7, 2013. She was a very loving and dear wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Her great legacy will be her tireless devotion to her family, friends and church demonstrated by countless acts of loving service, willingly offered even at the expense of her own comfort. Her children could not have been blessed with a better mother. She will also be remembered for her incredible selflessness, constantly striving to provide for everyone around her.
Judy was active in her community serving in many capacities in the school PTA while her children were in school. She always enjoyed telling a joke to make others laugh and relax. She definitely was a people-person and would always make an effort to meet new people where she quickly became friends. Judy enjoyed her family Sunday dinners and the big spread she would provide on every holiday. She never missed the opportunity to attend one of her kids’ sporting events or any event for that matter. She was the most loving and devoted mother anyone could ask for. She planned, fundraised and attended each of her five kids’ “grad-night” trips to Disneyland.
She was born March 31, 1940 in Alhambra, Calif., the daughter of Mabel and Henry Franklin. She married Gary Greene on Nov. 10, 1961 in the LDS church in Westchester, Calif., and later sealed in the LDS Los Angeles temple. Together they raised their five children in a loving home filled with her rich personality and witty sense of humor. She taught her children the meaning of family.
She is preceded in death and is now reunited with her mom Mabel and dad Henry Franklin and sister Bernice Hamilton. Judy is survived by her Husband Gary, her children Steve, Brian (Renee), Laura (Jim), Greg (Lynette) and Dan (Karla), her sister Claire Dotter, and brother Ted Franklin; 16 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
She was a faithful member of the LDS church and loved living the gospel. She was an inspiration to all and will be greatly missed.
A funeral service and celebration of Judy’s life will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 18218 100th St NE, Granite Falls, Wa on Saturday, July 13, 2013, beginning with a viewing at 1:00 and funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m.
