May 31, 1936 – November 20, 2023
Katherine was born in San Pedro, California to Pete and Katherine Padovan. The family relocated to Everett, Washington where Katherine began 5th grade at Immaculate Conception School and later graduated from Everett High School. As a young woman she worked for the Everett Herald and then the telephone company in Seattle.
In 1960 Katherine married her former classmate, Jim Wilson. Together they raised 4 children, Jay, Katherine, Carol and Susan.
Katherine was very active in her community, serving the Everett Boys and Girls club, YMCA, Providence Children’s Association and the City of Everett as a volunteer and board member. Her greatest joy was working for many years as a teacher’s helper in the 2nd and 3rd grade at Immaculate helping students with their reading and writing but never math. She was a very dedicated sports mom, watching and cheering on her children in the gym and at the track.
She loved to “GO” and was fortunate in her later years to get to see some of the world with Jim and dear friends as she traveled the US, to Ireland, London, Paris, Germany, the Caribbean, Australia, and most significantly to her, Croatia the land of her parents’ birth.
Katherine loved to cook and entertain. She loved hosting themed dinners, bridge nights and holidays in her dining room on Rucker for family and friends old and new. Her meals were always delicious and hearty.
She is now reunited with her beloved parents and her husband. She leaves behind her children, grandchildren and one great grand.
