

Born December 22, 1919 to Thomas E. and Winona Lowe in Meadow, South Dakota, Virginia was the eighth of ten children.
Virginia graduated from Bison High School in South Dakota in 1938. She married George Benjamin Ostrander, Jr. in 1942. Following their marriage, she lived in Detroit, MI with two of her sisters while George was overseas in the Army Air Corps. After the war they lived in Moses Lake, WA, then Seattle, WA. From there they moved to Blaine, WA where they operated a berry farm together with her brother-in-law, Donald. In 1952, the family settled in the Seattle City Light town of Diablo Dam, WA where they stayed for more than 20 years.
Virginia will most be remembered for her bright smile, commitment to family, work ethic, and community spirit.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband; parents; three sisters; and four brothers.
She is survived by her brother, Leon (Irene); sister, Nadine; children: Keith Ostrander (Linda), Neil Ostrander (Barbara), Linda Leonard and Nancy Hardin (Bob); six grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will held at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park, 1615 SE Everett Mall Way, Everett, WA, on December 5, 2012 at 1 p.m.
