

A memorial service will be held at11:00AM Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Kenny Brother Funeral Directors 3600 W. 95th St. Evergreen Park, IL 60805. Inurnment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, 3401 W. 87th St. Evergreen Park, IL 60805. Memorials may be made to the family.
Carl was born July 22, 1930 in Chicago, IL to Rev. Hyman & Louise (Holiday) Mills. He dedicated his service to the US Army during World War II. While stationed in Japan he became a boxing champion. His military background taught him to be very neat and organized. Carl was never seen without wearing clean and neatly pressed clothing. This helped as he was the youngest of 4 sisters and a brother. He was always the dependable caretaker for his sisters and his older brother.
Carl worked as a tailor creating and altering garments for numerous of clients on the south side of Chicago. Before retirement Carl cared for many community residents as a mental health counselor at Jackson Park Hospital. His outgoing friendly personality made him very popular in the community.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents; 4 sisters Florence, Juanita, Gwendolyn, and Jacqueline; and a brother Charles Mills. He is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, & cousins.
