Mary Monica Joria

JORIA, Mary Monica, 100, of Chicago,IL. Passed away on July 14th after a brief illness. She was the loving wife of the late Eugene Thomas Joria, mother of Joseph (Patricia) and Gerard(Christy), grandmother to Julia(Adam), Timothy(Anna), Terrence, Emily, Monica(Joseph), Patrick, David, Nathan, and Russell, great-grandmother to Audrey, Toby, Hannah, Max, and Sophia. Mary Monica obtained her Masters Degree in Social Work from Loyola University of Chicago in 1936 and she continued to work in that field into her 80’s. She was active at Smith Village Retirement Community, writing articles and stories for the residents’ newsletter, and spent time emailing and Facebooking with her family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Sisters of Providence, Terre Haute, Indiana.

Visitation Friday, July 25, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p. m. at Kenny Brothers Funeral Directors, 3600 W. 95th Street, Evergreen Park, IL. Prayers will be from Kenny Brothers, Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. Funeral Service at 10:00am at St. Cajetan, 2445 W. 112th, Chicago, IL 60655. Inurnment private.
