Stella A. Bibbs

Stella A. Williams was born November 28, 1945 to the late Alonzo and Willie Harris Williams in Brandon, Mississippi. She and her sister Emma were born to this union. Her mother Willie later remarried Artherman James Sr. and to this union six children were born together all the children were nurtured in love.

Stella’s early education was through the Gary, Indiana public school system and she graduated from Roosevelt high school in 1963. She later became a surgical technician and worked in a hospital setting for many years. On October 26, 1976 she was united in Holy Matrimony to her soulmate Thomas Bibbs. Stella enjoyed making clay pottery and her skills in the kitchen where undeniable. Her pot roast, sweet potato pie and peach cobbler will always be remembered by the ones she loved.On October 20, 2015 God laid Stella down gently to rest.

She was preceded in death by her very close nephew Kenneth Williams, sisters Florence Stephenson, Emma Williams, Portia James, June James; brothers John Wesley Williams, Alonzo Williams Jr. and William T. Williams and step sons Elbert and Thomas Bibbs Jr. Her love will live on in the hearts of her family; Husband Thomas Bibbs, step son Anthony Bibbs, sisters Dorothy Harper and Ann Brookshire; brothers Artherman James Jr., Shederick James Sr. and Phillip James Sr., brother in law Arthur Bibbs, sisters in laws; Dorris Bibbs and Jessie Mae Bibbs , Rev. Everlean (Ansah) Ofei, Priscilla Armstrong, Linnie Mae Chapman, Lula (Lunza) McCullen, Audrey (David) Rainey, Irene Greer, Rose Bibbs, cousin James Johnson and a host of other relatives and cherished friends.
