Tracy Stingley was born April 5, 1957 to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Earl and Corene Stingley, in Jackson Misissippi. (They both preceded him in death). His family moved to the west side of Chicago, IL, when Tracy was three. Tracy confessed Christ at an early age under the spiritual leadership and guidance of Elder Shephard Little, at King of Glory COGIC. Tracy began his early years of education attending Hughes Elementary School and Westinghouse High School. In school, Tracy was always athletically inclined. He had artistic skills and was academically advanced for his age. When his family moved from the West Side to the South Side, he briefly attended Gage ParkHigh School and was promoted soon whereby he graduated early from Linblom H.S. in the Summer Class of 1974. The following year in May, 1975 Tracy enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served in active duty until June 1980.
During Tracy's military career he continued his courtship with his childhood sweetheart, Regina Allen, until they were united in Holy Matrimony, June 23, 1979, at King of Glory COGIC, by Elder Eugene Cherry, former minister of Beautiful Zion MBC. Following the wedding, Tracy and Regina, returned to El Paso, Texas until Tracy completed his career in the military. In June of 1980, Tracy and his wife returned to Chicago, where he once again resumed the civilian life. Utilizing his veteran benefits, he continued his education and earned an A.A. Degree in Accounting from Kennedy King College. Tracy also secured his first job following the military, working for Stein Roe & Investments. In 1981, he and Regina had their first child, (Sheilina) followed by their second in 1986, (Ciara) and finally their son (Tracy), in 1988.
Tracy was also known for being an awesome, lead and solo singer, in the choir. He had a great tenor voice and could sing until he "shouted" or made someone else shout or cry.
He will forever be remembered for singing songs like"I Won't Complain", "Through It All" and last but not least, "Something About The Name Jesus". He sung in numerous choirs, such as the Greater New Mount Zion Choir, The Church Musicianship Guild, The Bethany Hospital Gospel Choir, and The Black on Black Love Inspirational Choir. Lastly, he was a part of the House of Prayer Praise Team, and would sing anytime he had the strength to do so. Tracy loved to "get his praise on". Tracy also enjoyed co-hosting on the radio with his wife's radio broadcast ministry, "Let's Talk About It" on 1510 AM, each Saturday at 12:00pm, (2004-2011). Often he would jokingly say, he wanted to sing live on the radio, but he never did.
On Friday, November 22, 2013 at 6:02 pm, Tracy made his transition, and took his final breath, in the presence of his wife, who let him go without hesitation, knowing spiritually "...to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord".
(2 Corinthians 5:8) KJV
