

William H. Jones Jr. was born May 9, 1924 in Chicago, Illinois to the union of the late William and Margaret Jones. William was the eldest of four born to this union. His siblings Edward, Lola and Norman all preceded him in death.
William was blessed to find his lifelong soul mate when he married Arsamae Sanders on October 5, 1942. Four wonderful children were born to their union; Norman, Michael, Marcelino and Zymenar. As a young couple, William and Arsamae joined St. Anne Catholic Church. As the children grew up, the family joined St. Carthage Catholic Church, which later merged into St. Benedict the African Catholic Church in Chicago, IL.
William was a dedicated and hardworking man. He worked at Reynolds Metal Company as a crane operator. He was considered a very valued employee whose services were in constant demand by his employer. He retired from Reynolds in 1978 after 35 years of service due to health issues.
William spent his life living and caring for his family and friends. He was a patient man, with a heart of gold, who was known for his devotion and love for his family. William enjoyed fishing, playing cards, watching a Bruce Lee movies and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. He was known for never being caught without his baseball cap, a deck of playing cards and a pocket of candy to the delight of his grandchildren.
William lived a full and happy life. On January 26, 2016 he was called him home.
He was preceded in death by his wife Arsamae of 64 years in 2006, and his son Norman.
He leaves to cherish his fond memories; two sons ~ Michael and Marcelino; one daughter ~ Zymenar (Chris) Lawrence; three grandsons ~ Michael II, Andre, Logan; three granddaughters ~ Yvette, Yvonne, Shontrese; nine great grandsons; four great granddaughters; one great-great-grandson; two great-great-granddaughters and a host of loving nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
