Barbara Jean Whitt

Barbara Jean Whitt, age 77, of Enon, died on Monday, March 7, 2016 at Springfield Regional Medical Center. She was born the daughter of George & Hazel (Morningstar) Mann on September 20, 1938 in Dayton. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, a brother William Winn, and a sister-in-law Lisa Adams. Barbara is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 60 years Durward Whitt, daughter Sheila (Craig) Grimm, sons Jeff (Karen) Whitt and Marvin Whitt all of Enon, grandchildren Amanda (Duane) Glase and Ryan Grimm, great granddaughter Madison Jean Glase, and several nieces, nephews, and friends. Barbara graduated with the first class at Wright State University earning a degree in education and then furthering her education earning a master’s degree in education. With her education she taught school and retired after 30 years of dedicated service from Springfield City Schools where she was a 5th grade teacher at Grayhill Elementary. Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She will be missed by all who love her. Friends may call on Thursday, March 10, 2016 5PM to 7PM at Burcham Jennings Funeral Home, 119 E. Main Street. Services will be on Friday, March 11, 2016 at 10AM at Victory Temple Church, 2443 Valle Greene Dr., Fairborn, Ohio with Pastor Tim Walden officiating.
