

Robert James “Bob” Collins age 89 of Fairborn died on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at The Hospice of Dayton while surrounded by his loving family and friends. Bob was born the son of John W. & Lillian (Van Gundy) Collins on October 21, 1926 in Columbus, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his parents; son Joseph Patrick Collins; infant grandson J.J. Collins. He is survived by his wife Betty M. Collins of 69 years; daughter Brenda (Steve) Stevens of Fairborn; son Robert (Shirley) Collins of New Carlisle; daughter in law Kathy Collins; grandchildren Adonica (Chad)Collins- Smith, Tasha (James Jones) Collins, Brandon (Kirsten) Collins, Richard (Brandi Miller) Collins, Grace Collins, Alissa Collins, Katie Collins and Jaydin Collins; great grandchildren Jackie (Ian), Tyler, Michaela, Jacob, Lilly, Chance and Holden; a great great grandson Grayson; grandpa to many neighborhood kids. Bob was a loving husband, dad, grandpa, and friend. He will be missed by all of those who love him. Bob was a member of the United Sates Navy serving proudly during World War 2. He was a member of Wayside Chapel for over 36 years, and was a member of Michael L. Finnell Lodge #711, and The Dayton Antioch Temple Shrine, and The Scottish Rite of Dayon. He was employed at Southwest Portland Cement for 19 years, and General Motors for 29 years. Friends may call on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 11AM – 12 PM at Burcham Jennings Funeral Home 119 E.
