Douglas E. Curtis

CURTIS, Douglas E, age 94 of Medway, passed away on March 25, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He is preceded in death by his parents, James & Margaret Curtis; brothers, Raymond, James, Russell, Walter, Bill, Leslie, Toad and Ray; sisters, Francis, Florence, Mae and Dorothy. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Hazel (Applegate) Curtis; daughters, Patricia (Gary) Whitt and Sandra Hicks; grandchildren, Chris Whitt, Amber Hinds and Brandon Curtis; great-grandchildren, Dillon Pike and Dalton Pike. Doug was born in Maysville, Kentucky on March 24, 1928. He retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years, Harrison Radiator after 17 years and was an usher at Nutter Center. Doug refereed basketball, umpired baseball and also coached junior high and high school baseball and basketball. He was a member of the Crystal Lake Moose Lodge 2464. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him and never met a stranger. A visitation will take place from 12pm until 1pm on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at Central Avenue Church of Christ, 922 Central Ave. Fairborn. A funeral service will directly follow visitation at 1pm. Doug's final resting place will be in Byron Cemetery, Fairborn, Ohio.
