EDWARD SIMPSON, age 76 of Fairborn passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Wright Patterson Air Force Base Medical Center. He was born on December 14, 1934 in Anniston, AL the son of Leo and Lena (Bates) Simpson. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother Leo Simpson Jr. and a sister Claudine Dickerson. He is survived by his wife Christine (Cockrell) Simpson, a son Scott Edward Simpson of Fairborn, step children Steve Cockrell of Fairborn and Kim Johnson of Riverside, 6 grandchildren Dusty Simpson, Randell Simpson, Waylon Simpson, Cory Kirk, Shelby Kirk, and Emma Cockrell, and 2 great grandchildren Mallory Kirk and Layla Simpson. He was a 20 year veteran of the United States Air Force and was employed at RE Fair Company for 20 years and then retired and resided in Fairborn. Friends may call the Burcham Funeral Home, 119 E. Main St. Fairborn, Ohio on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 from 11 AM to Noon where services will be held at Noon with Pastor Chris Tannreuther officiating. Interment will follow at Dayton National Cemetery.
