Roy found his greatest joy in the simple, meaningful moments of life—spending time with family and friends, working in his garden, hunting, and tinkering on projects in his garage. He especially loved being outdoors, where he could often be found feeding and watching the birds or crafting unique birdhouses from found and repurposed materials. His creativity and appreciation for nature were evident in all he did. Roy retired from Cemex (formerly Southwestern Cement Plant), where he dedicated many years of hard work and service. He was a proud member of the Fairborn Masonic Lodge – Michael L. Finnell Lodge #711, where he built lasting friendships. In December 2023, Roy was honored by the lodge with a 55-Year Service Award. Roy will be fondly remembered for his playful orneriness, his generous and giving spirit, and the warmth of his smiling blue eyes. His presence brought lighthearted joy to those around him, and his legacy will live on in the many lives he touched.
A visitation for Roy will be held at the First Baptist Church in Fairborn (1167 Highview Drive, Fairborn, OH 45324) on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm with a funeral service to begin at 12:00 pm.
