born in Charleston West Virginia to the late Samuel and Faye Shamblin. Samuel worked in the Pest
Control field for nearly 40 years where co-workers and friends affectionally referred to him as Sam the
Bug Man, before he retired to enjoy his life with his late wife Diane Shamblin.
Sam Shamblin is survived by his younger brother Robert Shamblin, younger sister Sandra Bucek, her
husband Robert Bucek, their daughter Mary Ann Storvik as well as his daughters, sons in law, and
grandchildren.
His eldest daughter Holly Shamblin and son in law Kevin Barnes are parents to his first granddaughter
Lily Shamblin. His second daughter Lisa Brezina and son in law Daryl Brezina are parents to his
grandchildren; Samuel Brezina, Olivia Brezina, Scarlett Brezina, John Brezina and his wife Haley Brezina.
He is also survived by his youngest daughter Samantha Shamblin.
When Sam was in the room laughter followed. His own laugh was infectious, he was an easygoing guy,
who liked to mess with his computer and play his games. When he walked away from his pc he liked to
read, he always had a book he was working through. Sam was also a great cook who whistled while he
worked and always threw a little salt over his left shoulder. Another hobby Sam enjoyed was fishing. He
made so many memories with his daughters and grandchildren while waiting for the fish to bite.
He was big in stature but even bigger in heart, his presence was the definition of comfort and strength.
He was a loving son and brother, a hard worker who provided for his wife and kids. He was a proud
grandpa, and the most loving caring dad his daughters could ever ask for.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.BurchamTobiasfuneralhome.com for the Shamblin family.
