

Virginia Lucille Buckley “Ginny”, age 83, of Fairborn, died on September 26, 2014 at the Kettering Medical Center. She was born the daughter of David & Edith (McKellips) Hundley on October 17, 1930 in Springfield, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother David Hundly. Virginia is survived by her daughter Nancy Buckley, sons Charles (Linda) Buckley, Michael Buckley, and David Buckley, sisters Nancy Boger and Rachel (Robert) Hunkeler, 10 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and friends at church. Virginia earned her bachelor’s degree from Wittenberg University where she was also a member of a sorority. While in the Philippines on Clark AFB she became Command Service Director for the 13th Air Force earning a letter of commendation from Colonel Nelson. Virginia enjoyed her hobby as a horse breeder for 20 plus years and was a member of American Quarter horse Association. After caring for her mother in her final days, she became what was to be her passion, substitute teaching in local high schools. She was able to do this up until her final days. Her hobbies also included gardening and reading. Ginny leaves us with this quote by Maya Angelou, “You may forget what someone said, you may forget what someone did, but you never forget how someone made you feel.” She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at 10AM at St. Christopher Episcopal Church, 1501 N. Broad St. Fairborn, Ohio 45324 with Ruth Paulus, officiating.
