Virginia Grody

Grody, Virginia Madeline age 80 of Fairborn passed away Thursday, December 20, 2012 at Patriot Ridge Community. She was born on December 30, 1931 the daughter of Candus & Mary (McFarland) Phillips in Abbs Valley, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Bertha Phillips and Shirley Vance, and her mother-in-law Goldie Stambach. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Alfred Grody. Her 4 children: Kenny (& wife Belinda) Grody, Cindy Mordini, Phil Grody, and Missy Slusher (& significant-other Jeff Johannes) . Her sister Janet Bland and brother James Phillips. She is also survived by her 6 grandchildren: Melissa Grody, Paul Mordini, Josh Slusher, Jennifer Grody, Jennifer Carwile, and Greg Slusher, and her 7 great-grandchildren: Brianna Grody, Emileah Slusher, Keira Carwile, Alyss Carwile, Jayden Slusher, Maycie Slusher, and Isobel Mordini. Virginia loved to read, crochet, dance the jitter bug, and tend to her garden of flowers. Most of all, she loved her family, who meant everything to her, and she loved spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Virginia was a member of the Eagles and the Methodist Church. She will be missed greatly by all. Friends may call for visitation on Saturday , December 22, 2012 11AM-1PM, with the funeral service at 1PM at the Burcham Jennings Funeral Home, 119 E.
