Brenda Joy Mitchell, 63, of Fairdale, passed away November 14, 2012. She was a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her husband, John H. Mitchell; children, John M. Mitchell(Amanda), Chris Mitchell(Stephanie), Tammy Brown(Mike); grandchildren, Tiffany M. Gross, Anthony W. Gross Jr., Douglas J. May, John Henry Mitchell II, and Joshua D. Mitchell; great grandson, Easton; brothers, Leroy Houchens, Terry Houchens, Danny Houchens, and Jackie and Johnny; sisters, Shirley Ramsey, Janet Southard, Kathy Williams; and aunt, Barbara Barnes. Funeral service will be 1pm Saturday at Fairdale-McDaniel Funeral Home with burial in Mitchell Cemetery. Visitation will be 11am-8pm Friday.
