Dennis "Sonny" McCoy, 80, of Fairdale, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2012 at his residence. He had been self employed with Dennie McCoy & Sons Produce and also with Harshfield Produce. He was a member of Southeast Christian Church and a Navy Veteran in the Korean Conflict serving USS Essex 4 years. He was an avid sports fan Big U of L fan, two of his favorites of all time were Denny Crum & Wesley Unseld.
Preceded in death by his parents, Dennie & Billie McCoy.
Survived by his daughter, Sandy Wade (Jesse), son, Jamie McCoy (Stacey), sisters, Joan Connors (Keith) & Shirley Rafferty, brother, Gary McCoy (Janice), grandchildren, Angela Beverly (Justin), Jessica Wade & Jamie McCoy Ising (Kayla), great grandchildren, Gannon, Grayson & Madison, nieces & nephews and also long time beloved friend, Pat Bishop.
Funeral services will be Noon Wednesday at Fairdale-McDaniel Funeral Home 411 Fairdale Rd. with burial in Mt. Holly Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-8 PM Tuesday.
