Garland "Pete" Franklin

Pete was a man of faith, he had a passion for serving others in the community, and was loved by so many. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He absolutely adored his family, especially his great-grandchildren. He was known for being a huge University of Kentucky fan and being so compassionate towards anyone and everyone he met.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Marilyn “Chelle” Franklin; siblings, Emgene, Fannie, Doug, Ruth, Marvin, and Tommy.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Rosie Franklin; grandchildren, Michael Franklin (Jacque), Steven Moran (Christina); great-grandchildren, Cannon, Alex, Kimber, Colt, Cole, Zane, Remi, Kamille; siblings, Ed Franklin, Marie Hall; and a host of nieces and nephews.

There will be a visitation for Pete on Monday, October 30, 2023 from 1pm-8pm at Fairdale McDaniel Funeral Home, 411 Fairdale Road, Fairdale, KY 40118. There will be a second visitation on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 from 10am-8pm at Fairdale McDaniel Funeral Home. Service will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at 1pm with visitation starting at 10am. Burial to follow at Coral Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks to send donations to Rosie Franklin, Keys Ferry Baptist Church, or St. Jude’s Heart and Lung foundation.
