Jewell Ray Boxwell, 90, of Fairdale, died Saturday, December 3, 2016 with his family by his side. He was born October 7, 1926 in Evansville, Indiana. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Gladys Pearl (Menser) Boxwell and son-in-law, Larry Fields. He worked as a truck driver for Kentucky Transport and for CSX Railroad before retiring. He enjoyed fishing, repairing lawn mowers, and listening to Jimmy Swaggart’s music.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dorothy Mae (Carter) Boxwell; daughters, Henrietta Boxwell Collier (Jimmy), Kathy Boxwell Fields, and Linda Boxwell Ciresi (Tony); son, Phillip Boxwell; sister, Mildred Menser; grandchildren, Chris, Nathan, Tim (Wendy), Kaytee, Casey (Junior), Karie (Mark), Larry (Sherry), Eric (Brandy), Jamie (Chiemi), Michael, Joey (Brittany), Brent, Angel, and Cody (Catherine); and 19 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday at Fairdale-McDaniel Funeral Home, 411 Fairdale Rd., Fairdale, KY 40118. His Funeral Service will be 2:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home with burial to follow in Mt. Holly Cemetery.
