Stephen James Bruce

Stephen James Bruce, 66, of Fairdale, passed away on August 3, 2021. He was born in Louisville on August 11, 1954 to the late Foreman and Patsy Bruce. Stephen owned and operated Bruce’s Body Shop for over 50 years. He was an avid car lover and enjoyed going to shows and sharing his passion with other car enthusiasts. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends on his boat at Nolin Lake. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend and he will be deeply missed by everyone that knew him.

In addition to his parents, Stephen is preceded in death by his great-grandson, Bryson Daniel Lee Harlow and two brothers, Michael Bruce and Terry Bruce.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 50 years, Sandra Bruce; children, Scotty Bruce and Angie Bruce (Chris Schweitzler); grandchildren, Brittany, Catlin, Austin, Sierra and Isaac; brothers, Paul, Jimmie, Ronnie, Mike and Terry; and a host of neighbors, friends and fellow car lovers.

The visitation for Stephen will take place on Sunday, August 8, 2021 from 2:00-8:00 pm at Fairdale-McDaniel Funeral Home (411 Fairdale Road). A service to celebrate his life will take place at the funeral home on Monday at 11:00 am with burial to follow in Bethany Cemetery.
