Thomas Richard Simpson

Tom was the devoted husband of 53 years to Barbara Lynn Simpson, with whom he shared a lifetime of cherished memories built on love, loyalty, and companionship. Together, they created a home filled with love, laughter, and warmth that will forever live in the hearts of their family.

Tom was a loving father to his sons, Brian (wife Angela Corriea) and Matthew, and a proud grandfather to Aster and London. He celebrated their accomplishments with great pride and found immense joy in the time they shared together. Tom is also survived by his younger brother, Robert (wife Julie Inskeep), with whom he shared a deep bond and many treasured childhood memories.

Tom spent his career in the banking industry, retiring from First Capital Bank of Kentucky. His hard work, dedication, and positive personality earned him the respect and friendship of colleagues and clients alike.

Beyond his professional life, Tom’s passions revolved around his family and community. Tom coached soccer teams for both of his sons and shared his love of sports, particularly UK basketball. He faithfully traveled with his boys to Lexington for games every season for several years, creating memories they will treasure forever.

Tom served as the president of the Lakeview Estates Homeowners Association for many years, leaving a lasting legacy through significant improvements to the community’s roads and lighting. In addition, Tom attended Southeast Christian Church, where he found strength and inspiration that guided him throughout his life.

Tom’s witty sense of humor was the hallmark of his personality. Whether through a clever joke or an unexpected quip, he brought laughter to those around him and taught his family the value of finding joy in life’s moments, big and small. His endless positivity, loyalty, and dedication touched the lives of all who knew him.
