Audrey Ellen Apps

Audrey was born on January, 28th, 1947. She lived to be 75 years old before passing away on September 22nd, 2022. There are countless positive traits that Audrey possessed, but none were as stand-out as her class and dignity. Through her extremely grounded approach to life, Audrey was also beautifully elegant, indomitably strong, and extremely witty. Audrey’s 75 years with the world have been full of adventures. In 1958, she moved to Dogwood Lane, New York. Upon graduating high school in 1965, she met her husband Charlie Apps. The two of them would get married in 1967 and have their first child, Heather, the following year. As the two ventured into life together, Audrey attained her Associates Degree in Applied Sciences on June 20th, 1970. After she and Charlie worked their way down the east coast, they finally moved into the Fairfax area in 1973. The two shared their first home on Ashby Place, and Audrey began her journey as an educator. Although Audrey initially joined FCPS as a food specialist, she eventually moved into the classroom as a Teacher Aid in 1974. Her entire educational career was spent at a singular school, Oakview Elementary. Her loyalty to the community, the school, and the kids are unparalleled. While she was an educator, she and Charlie decided to add more to the family tree. In 1990, they adopted their first son, Michael, from Seoul, Korea. However, that wasn’t enough for them. They added their final family member, from Tashkent, Uzbekistan, in 1994 through their youngest child, Cory. Audrey’s most cherished memory was a tie between her marriage to Charlie Apps or going to Alaska and Norway with him. The two shared a special bond that is extremely rare. Both of them enjoyed a blissful 55 years together. Through the times, they traveled, watched movies every Wednesday, became regulars at Bob Evans, rode bikes around the area, and consistently enjoyed each other’s company. Audrey is survived by her husband (Charlie Apps), her children (Heather, Michael, Cory), her dog (Little Bits), her extended family, and her friends.
