Barry Ford Reid passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026. He was born on June 12, 1947 in Station Hospital, Fort Monroe, VA to the late Colonel Raymond T. Reid and Rita Ford Reid. With his father being in the military, Barry spent his childhood in many places in the US and overseas. He was a graduate of The University of North Texas with a BS degree in Business. Barry had a long, fulfilling and successful career working for the Department of Defense as a civilian.
He had a natural ability to understand how things worked and could fix most anything, which brought him much enjoyment. Barry liked to watch movies, work in his yard, the outdoors, and playing his many guitars, He was a kind, loving, humble person, and he enjoyed doing things for others.
Barry was preceded in death by his parents, his stepmother Jean Reid, and his twin sister, Barbara Reid Gilbert(Buddy). He is survived by his wife, Carol Reid, his sisters, Beth Ann Lawson(Mike), Karen Mortimer(Mike) and nieces and nephews.
In accordance with Barry wishes, his funeral arrangements are private.
