Carrie Beth Crawford

Carrie was born May 13th, 1970, in Washington, DC, to Robert Wayne Lewis and Marcia Louise Heurich Charney.

Carrie graduated from Fairfax High School in 1988 and got married in 1992 to Richard Crawford. They had two daughters, Emily and Jessica. She remained in the Fairfax area until later in life where she lived in Harper’s Ferry, WV and then Catlett, VA.

Carrie worked in many positions at several companies and often, she quickly worked her way up the ladder. Some favorites include Hunan, Steak & Ale, Cookers, Great American Restaurants (Sweet Water and Artie’s), Let’s Dish! ,29 Diner, Shamrock Solutions Group which included managing the DC Defenders & lastly Continental Petroleum (later Griffith). Carrie made many long-lasting and meaningful friendships in her work, often resulting in her adopting people into her chosen family. Carrie was passionate and dedicated to any project she was involved in.

Carrie loved hanging out with her grandchildren, going to concerts, musical theatre, dressing up, sunset hunting, taking care of her plants and feeding her deer. She loved spending time with friends and family near or far and was never hesitant to travel to you just for a porch drop off. Carrie loved new adventures and was always adding to her bucket list. Carrie had many nicknames including C2, Care Bear and Momma C which she thoroughly enjoyed using to personalize everything. Carrie was a straight shooter, caring and open-minded until the very end. Carrie’s smile, infectious laugh & love for life will never be forgotten.

Remaining to cherish Carrie’s memory are her Mother, Marcia Charney; Daughters, Emily Crawford (Christopher Byrne) & Jessica Crawford-Sanchez (Ariel Zelaya-Sanchez); Grandchildren, Elijah, Lilly and Mateo; Brothers, Robert Lewis (Trinity Lewis), William Lewis (Chelsea Lewis) and Tommy Lewis; Nieces and Nephews, Taylor, Brooke, Chloe, Alyssa, Christopher, Nathan, Titus & Lillian; Uncle, Elmo Lewis & David Lewis; Uncle, Louis James “Jimmy” Heurich (Sally Heurich); Uncle, Timothy “Timmy” Heurich (Megan Heurich); God children Brittany Carter, Weston Carter & Grey Pitts; Abigail Livingston & Hannah Livingston; Alexandra Fisher-Tringale & Rebecca Fisher-Tringale; Taylor Lewis and many more friends and family.

Preceding Carrie in death are her Father, Robert Wayne Lewis; Stepfather, Zigmund Charney; Fraternal Grandparents, Elmo Lewis Sr. & Wilma Lewis; Maternal Grandmother, Emma Heurich; Maternal Grandfather Maurice Heurich Sr. & Helen Heurich; Uncles, Maurice Heurich Jr. & Jerry Heurich; Uncles, Jimmy Lewis, Richard Lewis, Tommy Lewis & Johnny Lewis; Aunts, Linda Lewis & Donna Lewis.

Memorial services will be held October 4th, 2025, from Noon-3pm at Demaine Funeral Home - Fairfax, with remarks at 1:30 pm. Please feel free to dress as colorful as Carrie was!
