Chiyuki Fujii Culpepper, age 55 of Burke, Virginia, and formerly of Chitose, Japan, died Friday, January 22, 2021 at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. She was born in Chitose, Japan on January 11, 1966 to Takeshi Fujii and the late Masako Urakawa Fujii. Chiyuki grew up in Hokkaido, Japan before coming to the United States. She graduated from Chitose High School and later Northern Virginia Community College. Chiyuki was a dedicated Army wife for over 20 years.
Chiyuki is survived by her husband, Mike Culpepper, to whom she was married on April 18, 1992; and her daughter Julia Fuyumi Culpepper of Virginia. Her father, two brothers and two sisters still reside in Japan.
Chiyuki will be laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery.
