

Eugene F. Baker, age 81, known as “Gene” and “Lefty”, departed this world on October 15, 2016, at his home in Oak Hill, VA after battling lung cancer. The son of the late Fred and Ertta Baker, of Pt. Marion, PA, he was a talented athlete who loved to play football for Fairmont High School in Fairmont, WV, and later for Texas A & M in College Station, TX.? He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sharon; his daughters, Kathy (Lenny) Wright, of Chantilly, VA, and Debra (Ross) Jones of Fairfax, VA; and his sons, Bryan Sweeney of Plainfield, IN, and Scott (Kim) Sweeney of Avon, IN. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Lou Bunch of Largo, FL, and his brother Delbert (Delores) Baker of St. Petersburg, FL, his Uncle Fred (Gilda) Blaney of Uniontown, PA and brother-in-law, Eldred (Donna) Pullen of Webster, NY. Fun-loving grandfather to David (Ashley) Wright of Manassas, VA, Garrett and Chad Jones of Fairfax, VA, and Brock and Austin Sweeney of Avon, IN, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was a home builder by trade and his hobbies included playing football, racquetball, hunting, poker, music, gardening, and beach trips. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Demaine Funeral Home – Fairfax on November 1, 2016, at 4 PM.
