Evelyn was born in Carmichaels, PA to Lucy Sestak Zoldos and Stephen Zoldos on October 18, 1929. She married William Francis Boehm on May 29, 1954. She worked as an administrative assistant for governmental agencies in the metropolitan Washington DC area. She was a Fairfax City resident and active parishioner at St. Leo’s Catholic Church for 63 years. She was an active member of the Fairfax Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary for more than four decades.
However, anyone who knew her understood that her real calling, passion, and reason for being for the last 50 years were her 3 sons and their wives, 5 grandsons, and 6 great-grandchildren.
Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband Bill, her parents Stephen and Lucy, and siblings Harold, Steve, Dolores, Bob, and Loretta.
She is survived by Steve Boehm and his wife Mary, Bill Boehm and his wife Jill, Mike Boehm and his wife DeAnn, her sister Lucille Linza, sister-in-law Kay Zoldos, grandsons Greg, Brian, Kevin, Nick, and Mike, and great-grandchildren Evie, Lexi, Russell, Perrine, Callie, and Blake.
Funeral services will be held at a later date in the spring.
Memorials in Evelyn’s honor may be given to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, one of her favorite charities.
Our family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the staff at The Gardens at Fair Oaks (her home since April 2025), the caring doctors and nurses at Fair Oaks Hospital, and the team from Capital Caring Hospice who cared for her in her final days. Their grace, warmth, and professionalism gave the family a deep sense of comfort.
