

John “Jack” McKeever, 80, of Chantilly, VA went to be with the Lord on April 15, 2025. Born in San Francisco, CA, he was the son of Joseph “Joe” and Anne “Mel” McKeever. He graduated from St. Ignatius High School in 1962 and the University of San Francisco in 1966, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics. He married in November of 1969 to Joyce McKeever (Wieder), his wife of 55 loving years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters Jennifer McKeever, Sandra McKeever and Lara Scoffone (Dave). Also surviving are three grandchildren: Ryan McCrady (Tierney), Allison and Jack Scoffone. Additionally surviving are sister-in-law Helen McKeever and several cherished nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Anna May May (Gene), Robert McKeever, Shirley McKeever and Joan McKeever.
Jack started his career in the aerospace industry at Philco-Ford and two years later moved to Redondo Beach, CA to begin his 35 years at TRW. In 1985, he moved his family to northern Virginia. His work took him across the country and around the world to Japan, South Korea, Belgium, Germany, Norway, Italy and Turkey. He spent his career protecting the United States of America and was a proud American. In 2014, he retired after 48 years in the defense industry. Soon after retiring he spent time completing a life goal of writing plays and his memoir. He was actively involved in his grandchildren’s upbringing from childcare to attending sporting events and school programs. He shared his hobbies of fishing, painting, playing chess and performing magic. He was a lifelong San Francisco Giants and 49ers fan. He enjoyed having family gatherings, especially setting off fireworks on the Fourth of July. He was a member of St. Timothy’s Catholic Church. He will be remembered for his love, wisdom, humor, and unwavering devotion to God, family and country.
A memorial service will be held at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church, 13807 Poplar Tree Road, Chantilly, VA, 20151 on Saturday June 7, 2025 at 11:00 am. The service will be telecast for those that are unable to attend.
The burial will be at Fairfax Memorial Park, 4401 Burke Station Rd. Fairfax, Va 22032 on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 1:00 pm.
