

Luis "Sonny" J Lagdameo, age 82, of Fairfax, Virginia passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2022. Sonny was born November 17, 1939. In his youth, Sonny was an avid Boy Scout and received the Badge of Merit - Order of the Purple Heart when he risked his life to save a drowning teacher. He played basketball in his teens and was part of the varsity cheer team in college. Sonny held various positions before his retirement. He was a Branch Manager of Overseas Bank of Manila; General Manager of Davao Arrastre (Davao, Philippines), Consultant to the Manila International Airport General Manager, and Consultant for the AMVETS (American Veterans) among others. He had a deep appreciation for music and dance, particularly during gatherings, and enjoyed making new acquaintances. He believed each person had a story worth telling and was always interested to see life through their eyes, even for a brief moment. New acquaintances immediately became dear friends for whom he would go out of his way to help.
More than anything, he cared deeply about his siblings and his family and would do anything to protect them.
Sonny is survived by his wife, Gloria "Lory" (nee Ramos); children Manuel Luis "Bingo" (Leah)and Maria Cristina Louise (Sy); grandchildren Paolo Lagdameo, Franco Lagdameo, Michael Dominique Sy, and Isabelle Nadine "Izzy" Sy; sisters Lourdes "Boots" , Carmen "Menchit" (Ed) Stull,and Grace (Ernesto); brothers Roberto "Bobby" (Fe), Salvador "Sal" (Minnie),Jake (Susan), and Carlos "Charlie" (Ming) and his many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his father, Luis A. Lagdameo and mother, Felisa Jimenez Lagdameo and by his sister, Anita “Annie” (Jimmy) Manubay, and brother Benjamin “Benjie”(Nora).
The Family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM & 02:00 PM - 04:00 PM at Demaine Funeral 10565 Main Street Fairfax VA 22030, on Sunday February 20th 2022. A Mass Of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM Monday February 21,2022 at St. Timothy Catholic Church 13807 Poplar Tree Rd, Chantilly, VA 20151.
