

Margaret was born in Dodge City, Kansas in 1939. Her father, Frank was a member of one of the founding families of the historic town. He was an undertaker and later a railroad worker for the Santa Fe Railroad. He was transferred to Barstow, California in the late 1940's. Her mother, Rozana, was a nurse and homemaker.
She attended University of California Davis but transferred to Oregon State where she graduated with a degree in Home Economics. She was hired by Southern California Edison as one of their new division of home economists who would offer public outreach to teach the many options and proper use of new electric appliances. She transitioned into teaching the many ethnic immigrants from Vietnam and Hispanic countries in Southern California how to use electricity in their homes. She continued in the education division of SCE until her retirement in 1998.
She was a world traveler. She went to Russia, Africa, Mexico and all over Europe many times.
She was always an active member of her parish, St. Cecilia's, and local politics. She moved in 2000 to Winchester, Virginia to be near her daughter, Anne-Marie (husband Clark) and ultimately 8 grandchildren. She quickly became a committed member of Sacred Heart Parish and the many events and organizations there. She also joined the Republican Women's group and often submitted letters to the editor of the Winchester Star.
She enjoyed her book club, garden club, flower arranging and most of all making an impact through education.
Margaret is preceded in death by her sister Rosanne. She is survived by her daughter, Anne Marie Cummings (Clark), nephew, Scott Hobble, and grandchildren; Antonia, Joseph (Hannah), Christian, Ioan (Germaine), James, Marri, Louisa, and Marcus. She has 3 great grandchildren.
