Mary Frances Krais

Mary Frances Krais nee Moore, 86, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2018 in Fairfax, VA. She was born on April 3, 1931 in Harrison, NJ to Frank Moore and Anna Rusek Moore. She attended Our Lady of Czestochowa grade school and Queen of Peace High School in North Arlington, NJ, where she graduated as valedictorian, and later went on to secretarial school. While working for a General Motors subsidiary, she met her future husband Robert “Bob” Krais during a company fire drill. They married in 1955 and lived in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ for the next 20 years. When Bob accepted a job with the US Department of Veterans Affairs, they moved to Fairfax, VA, where they would continue to live the rest of their lives. Mary worked at George Mason University in Fairfax until her retirement and made lasting friendships there. She had both talent and passion for playing the piano, cooking, baking, and sewing. She was preceded in death by her husband Bob, who passed away in 2008. She is survived by her loving daughter, Roberta Krais & devoted granddaughter, Hayley Aguayo both of Fairfax, VA and other relatives, including dear cousins, a sister-in-law, nieces and nephews.
