Patricia Harrison Passuth

Passed away on April 30, 2021 at the age of 95 surrounded by her family. Patricia was born in New York City, New York, on January 16, 1926. She attended Bishop McDonnell Memorial High School and St. John’s University before working as a telephone representative in Manhattan for the New York Telephone Company. Patricia was beloved by her husband of 71 years, Frank V. Passuth, and their six children. Patricia married Frank in 1948 in New York City. The couple moved to Virginia in 1950 when Frank began his career with the Federal Government in Washington, D.C. Frank and Patricia moved to Fairfax City in 1962 where they enjoyed raising their family. Patricia was a devoted, loving mother and grandmother. She was active in the PTA and attended her children’s and grandchildren’s innumerable activities, including cub scouts and girl scouts, baseball, tennis, dance and cheerleading events. Patricia was active in her civic association and in St. Leo’s church. Patricia enjoyed working as an account executive for the Globe newspaper and also as a secretary for the George Mason University Health and PE department. It was there that she was introduced to water exercise, which became an important activity for many years. Patricia was a talented craft artist, creating beautiful quilts, cross stitch, knitted and crocheted pieces that she delighted in giving to her children and grandchildren as precious keepsakes. Patricia is predeceased by her husband, Frank. She is survived by their six children, Phillip Passuth (Debbie O'Brien Passuth), Barbara Passuth, Elizabeth Passuth, Patricia Passuth Lynott, Stephen Passuth (Debbie Bowen Passuth), and Peggy Passuth Lovecchio; Grandchildren, Neil, Mariah, Robert, Evan, Sean, Steve, Sarah, Kristin, Megan, Michael, Julia, Allison and Drew; and 10 great-grandchildren. A memorial mass will be held May 13, 2021, at 11 a.m. at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Fairfax, VA.
