Rose L. Taylor, 86, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister-in-law and aunt, of Little River Glen Senior Center in Fairfax, Virginia, passed away peacefully in her apartment on the morning of May 12, 2020 after a long illness.
Rose was born in Grafton, Ontario, Canada to Rose Ella Calnan and Henry Lawless and emigrated to the United States at the age of 15, becoming a U.S. citizen at the age of 25. Rose worked for the City of Fairfax for 28 years, starting in the Treasurer’s Office and was promoted to the Clerk of Court for the City of Fairfax General District Court, in which role she spent most of her career.
She is survived and greatly missed by her three children; Margaret “Peggy” Lawlor, Michael (Vicky) Lawlor, and Kevin (Debra) Lawlor, as well as 8 grandchildren; Kelley Rose Young, Levi Young, Caitlin Gumb, Shari Stanford, Kari Hall, Ethan Lawlor, Katherine Lawlor and Meghan Lawlor, and 6 great-grandchildren; Jada Rose Terry, Zoe Grace Young, Ryleigh Noel Hall, John Ryan Hall, Hayden Kimberlee Stanford, and Dominic Glascoe, and many nieces and nephews in the States as well as Canada, as well as her devoted sister-in-laws Mary Ellen Lawless, and Joan Lawless. Her brothers Daniel Lawless, Denis Lawless, Father John Lawless as well as her sisters Gertrude (Bernard) Murphy, and Jane (George) Koerner, as well as several nephews, preceded her into the Lord’s welcoming arms.
