Nécrologie de Ryan Jeffrey Poli
We remember Ryan as a sensitive and caring person who brought joy and humor into our lives. He succumbed to a long battle with depression and anxiety and passed away at his childhood home on July 11, 2017. Depression is a disease of the mind and one’s mental outlook and we know he is at rest and without pain now. Ryan was born in Augusta County, Virginia on February 8, 1996. He grew up in the Afton Glen neighborhood of Springfield, Virginia. He attended Sangster Elementary and was active in Cub Scouts and skateboarding. He graduated from Lake Braddock High School in 2014. He completed a George Mason University certificate in Web Design in 2015, and was attending Northern Virginia Community College working toward a degree in Communication Design. Ryan had many talents. More than anything else, he wanted to be remembered as an artist, practicing his work through graffiti by his tag, Intrepid. He owned his own business, Intrepid Design Company, to promote his graffiti art on clothing. He also loved playing the drums and would often play during our neighborhood Independence Day celebration with the “Blues and Jazz Men Band” of Blue Jasmine Court. He is survived by his parents, Jeff and Lori Poli; sister, Lindsey Poli; grandparents, Mary Ann Jones from Palm Bay, FL and Elizabeth Tracy from Sarasota, FL and long time girlfriend, Gabby Draugelis. --You can remember Ryan Poli, Intrepid, and his passion for art with a donation in lieu of flowers to: Alex Goldstein/The Fridge in Ryan’s name. The Fridge DC is an art gallery, performance space, music venue and classroom, which supports the DC graffiti and street art community.
