Sharon Carpenter, 81, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2024, after losing her battle with cancer. Sharon Kaye Crozier was born on April 23, 1943, in Chicago, IL. Her parents James A. and Helen I. Crozier, and a brother James A. Crozier II preceded her in death. Her early years were spent in Texas, the Philippines, and in Wisconsin as her father was a career Air Force officer. Surviving are two brothers Terrance (Carin) Crozier, and Kevin Crozier, both of San Antonio, TX. Her marriage to Paul Wilbert Senior ended in divorce. Two children were born of the marriage, Joyce M. (Mrs. James Schmidt), and P. Michael (Cathy) Senior. On May 29, 1970, she married Edwin Richard Carpenter, Jr. and became the stepmother of three: Brigitte (Mrs. John May), William (deceased), and Eric (Jolynn) Carpenter. Surviving are five grandchildren, three step grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and five step great grandchildren. They moved to 4030 Walters Court, Fairfax, VA 22030 in July 1973. She retired as a Payroll Supervisor for USAir Airlines after 36 years. Her hobbies were cross-stitching, quilting, and reading. She was a member of Harmony Chapter No. 60, Order of the Eastern Star; Fredericksburg Assembly No. 266, Virginia (Past President) Social Order of the Beauceant; Elizabethtown Assembly No. 265, Pennsylvania, S.O.O.B; and an Honorary Member of Westminster Assembly No.245, Maryland, S.O.O.B. The Social Order of the Beauceant is an organization for wives, daughters, sisters, mothers of Masonic Knights Templar. She was proud to have served several times as an appointed officer of the Supreme Assembly, Social Order of the Beauceant. She enjoyed meeting friends during her many trips with Ed attending their masonic meetings across the U. S. They are members of St. George’s United Methodist Church. A special thank you to the compassionate and caring staff at Goodwin House Hospice. Her final days were peaceful because of them. A memorial service will be held later. Inurnment will take place in Fairfax City Cemetery.
