She was born in Washington, D.C. to Joseph and Winifred Prowinski. She was a longtime member of Northern Virginia Primitive Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Samuel F. Woods; her children, Susan Lynn Athey and Michael Lee Collier; her grandson, Tyler Andrew Athey; her stepson, Edwin Woods and wife Christine; and her step-grandchildren, Cody, Ethan, and Chelsea.
She was dearly loved by her family and friends. Her sweet spirit will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at Demaine Funeral Home, Fairfax.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Fairfax City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
