

Tyler William Jones, 24, of Burke, VA passed away on Monday, April 25, 2016. He was born on June 28, 1991 in Fairfax, VA. Tyler was a 2009 graduate of Fairfax High School, participating in Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), high school ice hockey, and youth soccer teams. He was a 2013 graduate of Old Dominion University, earning a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Human Services. Tyler was a very proud and active brother in the Pi Kappa Alpha (Pike) fraternity. Tyler began his career as a District Executive with the Boy Scouts of America, in Salisbury, NC. Most recently he was a security systems sales consultant in the Northern Virginia area. Tyler was a communicant of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, Fairfax, VA, where he was a member of Boy Scout Troop 1113 from elementary school until he earned the rank of Eagle Scout in 2009. Tyler was an altar server for the parish and his community service also included being a Camp Counselor for City of Fairfax Parks and Recreation. Tyler enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and sports, particularly the Washington Capitals and Washington Redskins. He will be remembered for being approachable, empathetic, charismatic, a conversationalist, and a dear friend to many. He is survived by his parents, Fred and Laura Jones; his sister, Elise Jones, and many special aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Robert and Helen Jones, and his maternal grandparents Eckehard and Jeanette Muessig. Visitation with the family will be held at 10:30 AM, on Saturday, April 30, at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 3700 Old Lee Hwy, Fairfax, VA, followed by a memorial mass at 11:30 AM.
